Heron, St James Park

This proud heron was enjoying the visitors in St Jame's Park.

He just had to be captured in stitch.

I've been experimenting with vintage cloth that I cut up and piece together into a new piece of fabric.

You can try and guess the origin of each design.

The heron is made seperately using small fragments of a variety of material.

Hand stitching gives direction for the feathers.

This heron flew to America and is proudly hanging in a New York house.
